EcoPure makes plastics biodegradable

Christopher Chin, John Lake, John Barnes, Samuel Adams.
Bio-Tec Environmental LLC, New Mexico, USA.

BTE EcoPure Sdn Bhd signs with Bio-Tec Environmental LLC to become an authorized distributor for their biodegradable additives called EcoPure. An additive when blended with plastics like PP, PE, PET, PVC, HIPS, ABS, TPU, TPR, PC, EPS, PS, EVA, SAN, NYLON 6, POLYESTER, AND Synthetic Butyl Rubber; will activate the biodegradation process when they are buried in the landfill.

BTE Malaysia sees a great opportunity to bring EcoPure into Asia because of the emerging markets and the fact that many of the Multi National Companies are exporting from these countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China etc. The target markets are in the various plastic process like injection molding, blow molding, film extrusion, plastic bags blow film.

The objective is to promote EcoPure to many product and brand owners to blend their plastic products or packaging with EcoPure as a collective effort to reverse the plastic pollution in the sea as well as the land. EcoPure plastics will biodegrade with the help of attracting microbial by attacking the additive and plastic polymers under landfill condition. This biodegradation is described as Anaerobic Biodegradation under ASTM D5511-2.

EcoPure is also tested and verified to be food-contact safe, which complies with all requirement by FDA US and EEC (EU). Making it totally perfect for food packaging, food containers, and any disposable cutlery.

Companies which carry products blended with EcoPure will be identified with the EcoPure logo and brand name as an endorsement for their green environmental contribution.

BTE Malaysia thinks EcoPure is the best solution to address the amount of plastic pollution faced now by every country in the world. Starch-based biodegradable products are expensive and they are drawing a food source to save the earth. Application from starch-based products is limited due to its low threshold for heat, pests, moisture etc. The process to blend EcoPure is exactly the same as adding a masterbatch like color pigment into the plastic resins mix. Due to its ease of mixture, plastic process in manufacturing is untouched, therefore giving manufacturers the peace of mind and confidence in production and profitability.

BTE Malaysia is now looking to expand its branches into all countries in Asia to enroll more companies to use EcoPure additives in their products and packaging. We hope to complement the plastic industry by making plastic biodegradable, and turn them back into biomass in the soil

Therefore completing a full cycle of making something organic like petroleum into organic matters to fertilize the earth.
